The Butlers Arms is an award winning, community pub in the village of Pleasington; between Blackburn, Chorley and Preston just 5 minutes from the M65. It’s a beautiful stone building opposite the stunning Pleasington Priory, built 200 years ago as a thanks offering by John Francis Butler, hence the pub’s name
The bar at The Butlers Arms offers a comfortable and relaxed pub environment for drinking or dining.
There’s table service, a well stocked bar and free WiFi. Dogs are welcome in this part of the pub, making it popular with locals and walkers.
On cooler days, we light the pubs 2 real fires to create the ultimate country pub atmosphere.
You can choose where to dine when you visit The Butlers Arms; the menus are the same wherever you sit. Eat in relaxed atmosphere of The Bar, go al fresco on The Terrace or for a more formal experience choose The Restaurant.
The Parlour and The Garden Room offer a quieter atmosphere where families, friends and couples can dine, chat and enjoy. With access out onto The Terrace, Garden Room is the perfect venue for weddings and celebrations.
Overlooking the bowling green, you’ll find The Terrace.
With high wooden trusses, beautifully selected foliage and comfortable seating it brings a bit of the Med to the region. There’s an outside bar, fire pit and ice bucket tables, plus festoon lighting to keep you comfortable on almost any summer evening. If you’re feeling the chill, grab a blanket and snuggle down.
We have a beautifully manicured bowling green at The Butlers Arms and 6 teams that call our pub their home. Whilst the teams aren’t playing you are welcome to try it out for yourself, all you need are flat-soled shoes. There’s more outdoor seating around the bowling green; we’ll bring food to your table but you’ll need to order at the bar.
The bowling green is available to hire when our teams aren’t playing. Please call us for details.
